Ph.D. Programmes (Food Science & Nutrition)


The division of Food Science and Nutrition apparently is a wide subject encompassing basic and molecular sciences to clinical and community applications and several health related concerns.

FSN is being taught at U.G. and P.G. level in B.A., B.Sc. (Home Science) course and M.Sc. (Home Science) Food Science and Nutrition. Research taken up as students project is a part of PG curriculum and Ph.D. The department is also engaged in research projects sponsored by UNICEF & DWCD.

As a family of nutritionists, the department addresses several facts of malnutrition for holistic development, Nutrition research, Clinical and Public health nutrition, Nutrition education and empowerment are on a continuum. The division aims at developing nutrition scientists with scientific consciousness, scholarly integrity, creativity, vision and hope - the youngsters of today who would continuously push into new and promising areas for the future which would impact on nutritional status and help to shape a healthier nation.
