The department of Social Work offers exciting opportunities for students to gain knowledge and apply skills in many current and emerging areas of professional Social Work practice through its flagship program, Masters in Social Work (MSW).
The department of Social Work prepares students for practice that is sensitive to the social, economic, cultural, demographic and political contexts that shape our nation and beyond. Within a framework emphasizing professional ethics, social justice, diversity, strengths and community engagement, the department seeks to equip students for the cutting edge practice of the modern Social Work Profession.
The Social Work department is committed to promoting the strengths of Professional Social Work through education, research and consultancies, while maintaining a particular focus on women and gender related issues. A number of specializations ranging from Human Resource Management to Medical and Psychiatric Social Work are offered as part of the Masters Program in Social Work (MSW) and the department takes special care of partnerships with the public, nonprofit and private sectors and emphasizes student and faculty involvement in professional, service, and academic associations and organizations.
