IBM - Banasthali Technology Day
IBM -Banasthali Technology day was organized in Banasthali University on 24th October' 07 in order to introduce students to the latest technology as well as strengthen the industry academia integration. The event was attended by more than 200 postgraduate students of Apaji Institute of Mathematics & Applied Computer Technology, Banasthali University. Mr. Kiran Subbraman, Mr. Kiran Ramamurthy and Mr. Manoj Dusanapudi were the experts from IBM, India, Bangalore who shared their expertise with students.
The event started with the lighting of lamp followed by the welcome address by Prof. Rekha Govil, Dean Apaji Institute in which she highlighted the need for industry - academia bonding. She also thanked IBM for supporting Banasthali for its various programmes contributing to development of students and faculty.
Session 1 began with a UR Movie on IBM & Research and was continued by Mr. Kiran Subbraman with an 'Introduction to Web2.0'. In session 2 Mr. Kiran Ramamurthy introduced the participants to 'JDK Architecture and JVM Internals'. The post lunch session started with an introduction to 'Real Time Java' by Mr. Kiran Ramamurthy and was later continued by Mr. Manoj Dusanapudi who spoke on 'Cell Processor and Blue Gene Architecture'.
The event concluded with an Open Session with students. The participants explored career opportunities for them and what industry expects from freshers. At the end of the Open Session all the experts termed the event a great success and praised the participants for being very interactive.
