The objective of the course is to ensure that students  understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. It also seeks to prepare the students to  introduce them selves, others and  ask & answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. The course shall assist student to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

1. The German Alphabet
   Letters and sounds
   Topic: Expressions of greeting and introduction
2. Pronunciation Practice
   Simple Questions words; negation; kein.
   Sentence Structure; articles i.e. definite and indefinite.
   Topic: Asking for specific information
3. Personal Pronouns
   Verb Conjugation: Present tense
   Topic: Telephone Conversation
4. Numbers
   Time
   Topic: asking for age, price, numbers
5. Verb conjugation: to have, to be (negative, interrogative)
   Introduction of the direct object (Accusative)
   Topic: Family, relations
