Objectives :
To prepare effective teachers of secondary and senior secondary stages who are equipped with
-
a clear conceptual understanding of teaching learning in various settings
-
the school context and the larger national and global perspectives in which school education operates
-
necessary technical know-how and competence that a school teacher requires for her various professional roles as a teacher such as teaching, school administration, maintaining records and evolving innovative learning experiences.
Minimum Eligibility:
(a) Female candidates with atleast 50% marks in their three years Bachelor's Degree and/ or Master's Degree from Banasthali University or a university recognized by Banasthali as equivalent thereto (45% marks in case of SC/ ST candidates.)
(b) The candidate must have studied and passed the school teaching subjects [as mentioned under (c)] for atleast two years either at graduation or post graduation stage.
(c) Candidate only in Arts, Science and Home Science streams with following subject specializations, available in the department and relevant for teaching at school stage-

Teaching Subjects :
1. Hindi
2. Sanskrit
3. English
4. Civics
5. Social Studies
6. History
7. Mathematics
8. General Science
9. Chemistry
10. Biology
11. Music
12. Home Science
13. Physical Education
14. Political Science
One can opt for teaching language only if she has studied that language
as an optional subject for atleast two years at Bachelor's or Master's
level.
General Science, and Social Studies as a school teaching subject shall be allowed to candidates having the following combinations-
General Science :
(i) Candidates who have passed B.Sc. (Home Science) shall
opt for Home Science subject. They shall opt for General Science as the
second school subject.
(ii) Candidate who have studied two subjects out of Physics,
Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Home Science and Agriculture
Science at Bachelor's level can opt for General Science as a teaching
subject. Biology and Chemistry can be given as teaching subject preferably to those who have studied Zoology/ Botany/ Biology/ Biological Science/ Life Science/ Chemistry at Master's Level.
Social Studies :
Candidates who have studied two subjects out of History,
Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Geography and
Sociology at Bachelor's level can opt for Social Studies as a teaching
subject. Civics and History can be given preferably to those who have a Master's Degree in these subjects.
