Research And Publications  

The research paradigm at WISDOM is founded on action-based research. Faculty and students also participate in collaborative research based on GRAM, Organizational Training, and Project Work.

WISDOM has identified some thrust areas of research, which include:

Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops are organized regularly generating a large pool of research papers, publications, and intellectual capital. Presently over 100 scholars are registered for Ph.D. in Management and Commerce from India and Overseas. Faculty members regularly contribute high-impact research papers and articles in various national and international seminars, conferences, books, and journals.

 

Brief about the thrust areas of Research at WISDOM

1.     Indian Ethos and Indian Management: Thought and Practices:

Banasthali Vidyapith has always been ahead of the curve, and sensing the need of Indian Knowledge System (IKS) FMS WISDOM over the past so many years has well incorporated Shastriya Prabandhan for reforming Management Education in Bharat by making it suitable to the culture and context. The concept has been derived from the Gurukul system of education. Indian Ethos aims to infuse emotions, passion, spirituality, cultural sensitivity, reverence for nature, and contextual intelligence in the education system, especially management education. For this Faculty Development Programs, Workshops, Orientation sessions, Guest lectures, and Research and Consultancy are conducted.

Research Focus: Primarily, development of models and interventions, based on traditional Indian wisdom, which would blend more effectively with the Indian cultural context. Additionally, studying the healthy practices prevalent in Indian organizations and analyze their role in the development of individuals and society.

OMRISE is a Research Group that focuses on Organizational Management (OM), Research (R), Innovation (I), and Sustainable Entrepreneurship (SE). The group has been formed through the collaboration of three parties: Buurtzorg Nederland and Praan Group from the Netherlands, and Banasthali Vidyapith, India. VSM (Vishwa Shanti Mandir) is another initiative to promote girls' progression by following M3 (Mentoring, Meditation, and Monetary support).

2.     Entrepreneurship and Startups:

Banasthali Vidyapith, with the vision to build a world-class ecosystem for women startups in India, has established a state-of-the-art Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) at Banasthali. It has partnered with NITI Aayog to set up India's first & now largest Business Incubator solely focusing on women-led startups.

The Incubator offers Pre-Incubation, Incubation, Acceleration & Corporate Innovation Programs and offers seed funding to its Students, Scholars, Faculty & Women Startups from across India. The program helps aspiring entrepreneurs to validate their ideas, build a proof of concept, and identify markets, thereby helping in commercialization and building a sustainable business model.

Over the last 7+ years, the incubator has supported over 181 women startups, 117 of which have raised over Rs. 2300 Mn in funding while creating more than 3000 jobs. AIC Banasthali focuses on nurturing the next generation of women startups in Science and Technology and envisions itself as becoming the "National Centre for Women Entrepreneurship." 

Research Focus: There is an emphasis of research in Entrepreneurship especially women entrepreneurship, startups, incubation centres and other aspects of the startup ecosystem.

 

3.     Personal Finance:

Bank of America Centre of Excellence for Financial Planning Training and Research for Women at Banasthali Vidyapith is the first-of-its-kind effort by any University in India to spread financial planning awareness & practice among women at village, school/college levels and conducting research at both basic and advanced level.

B.A. Continuum India Pvt Ltd (A wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of America) is the key supporter of this project and has donated a generous grant under CSR. The CFPTRW has also received support from Icetrail Logistics and Banasthali alumnae for boosting financial literacy and research.

CFPTRW is working towards boosting financial literacy among women including rural women, working women and girl students by adopting an integrated approach while linking research to these three target groups. The centre provides financial literacy, digital financial literacy to working women, students and rural women covering more than 11000 women over the years. 4.     Corporate Governance:

National Center for Corporate Governance (NCCG) at Banasthali Vidyapith focuses on research in core concepts of Corporate Governance, Women Leadership, Indian Ethos in Governance and allied areas. The Center is accredited by National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG), New Delhi. https://www.nfcg.in/

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India has set up the National Foundation for Corporate Governance in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Subsequently, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, National Stock Exchange and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs also joined with an objective to promote good Corporate Governance practices both at the level of individual corporates and Industry as a whole.
