The
Department of Education had its origin as the college of Education within the
University in 1962 and was affiliated to the University of Rajasthan. It was
the first wholly residential teacher education institute for women in the whole
region. Later the University gained the status of a Deemed University in
1983 the college of education got elevated as Department of Education. The
Department of Education and the Physical Education were brought together as
the Faculty of Education. The department offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.),
Master of Education (M.Ed.), Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.). At
present the department is recognized as one of the progressive teacher education
institute in the country known for its quality innovativeness. The teaching
programs involves not only practicing new ideas and concepts but also acquiring skills to act on
those concepts to generate personal understanding and articulate the same.
